The Transformation of The Hot Water Heater & Its Closet.
Behind this door:
last week there was this:
And now there's this:
There's a fluorescent light up there--it's blindingly bright; I picked the brightest white paint they had and got it in semi-gloss. I was TIRED, oh-so-tired, of a dark, dingy closet.
Two shelves for cat food and extra cat supplies, like scoops and bowls and stuff. The boards on the sides: I asked him to extend those all the way to the front so I could screw in hooks for stuff like extension cords and other stuff that can be hung out of the way.Is that totally fabulous or what? I love it and am pleased beyond words. The tankless HWH seems to be the perfect solution. We can't tell any difference in how long it takes hot water to get from the heater to our shower, and we never have to worry about running out (not that we use a lot of hot water; we *are* still in a drought, after all). So that's the last week and a half here--it always takes longer than you think it's going to, and it's always a lot messier--I've stepped on seven goat's-head stickers in the carpet so far (we don't wear our shoes in the house, so we never have this issue unless workmen are here). But when it's done? Ahhhhhhh. . . .

It looks fabulous! I bet you will keep opening and closing that closet door just to check to make sure it didn't change back! :)
You're so right: open the door, flick on the light, go, "Wow!" turn off the light, shut the door. Open the door. . . .
Wonderful! So, how long do you think it will take before you can put something in it? (wink)
Well, I already DID that, of course! He said the paint was dry and to go ahead.
